Interpretation of GB/T 6052-2025: A Single Gas Chromatograph for the Determination of Critical Impurities in Carbon Dioxide
GB/T 6052-2025 “Industrial Liquid Carbon Dioxide” is primarily intended for liquid carbon dioxide products used in industrial applications. According to the standard’s explanatory notes, its applicable industries include: industrial gases; gas filling stations; welding and metalworking; metallurgy and casting; chemical production; refrigeration and dry ice manufacturing; fire protection; oil and natural gas; water treatment and environmental protection; greenhouse agriculture, and others. In particular, in the welding and metalworking sector, carbon dioxide is commonly used as a shielding gas in gas-shielded welding processes. If the gas contains excessive sulfides, hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, moisture, or oxygen, it may adversely affect weld quality, leading to defects such as porosity, increased spatter, and cracks. Consequently, the new national standard imposes stricter quality‑control requirements on carbon dioxide used for welding, reflecting an important step forward in upgrading industry standards.
After the new national standard was implemented, how are trace organic impurities in methanol measured? — A Field Application Case of the GS2010‑IIF Gas Chromatograph
For methanol producers and coal‑chemical enterprises, methanol quality control has long been a top priority in quality‑inspection laboratories. In the past, many customers focused primarily on conventional parameters such as methanol content, appearance, and moisture; however, as downstream customers’ demands for product quality continue to rise, trace organic impurities in methanol have increasingly come under scrutiny.
